Kairo vs Dever

Dever alternative for chauffeur operators.

Dever's DISPATCH has been running chauffeur, private hire, airport, cruise and ferry transfer and courier fleets since 2013. If published pricing, AI-drafted quotes and a fixed-price migration matter more to you than raw breadth, here's how the two compare, fact for fact.

What Dever is genuinely good at

Dever Software sells DISPATCH, a generalist ground-transport platform that covers chauffeur and limousine work alongside private hire, airport, cruise and ferry transfers and courier work. It has been trading since 2013, leads on breadth and simplicity rather than any single technology story, and promises one flat monthly price with no contracts and no limits on drivers, vehicles, customers or bookings. It is a genuinely deep, mature system for an operator who wants one tool across several kinds of ground transport work, not chauffeur alone.

Published pricing£99 / £199 / £299 a month by fleet size, on the website, before you speak to anyoneNot published. The only figure anywhere on Dever's site is a customer testimonial mentioning £90 a month, which is one operator's bill, not a rate card. Call 01962 774237 to find out what you'd pay.
Contract / minimum termMonthly or annual billing, chosen at signupNot stated. Dever advertises "No Contracts", but its published terms and conditions set out no minimum term, contract length or notice period.
Self-serve free trial30 days, self-serve, start it yourselfA trial exists, but it's arranged by phone or contact form, not a self-serve signup, and no duration is published.

Where Dever may still be the better fit

Over a decade in the market. Dever has been selling DISPATCH since 2013 and the operator community knows the name. That's real, and no amount of newer technology substitutes for a system that has already survived ten years of VAT returns, PCO renewals and Christmas party season.

The tariff engine is genuinely deep. Cumulative mileage bands, total-mileage rates, standing charges, minimum fares, point-to-point, multi-leg journeys with via points and hourly as-directed work, all variable by account, customer, vehicle type, zone, date, day of week and time of day. If your rate card is unusual, Dever can almost certainly express it.

Driver pay and payslips are built in, including reimbursable expenses and recurring driver expenses, and payslips export to your accounting software. Kairo does not produce driver payslips. If paying your drivers out of the dispatch system matters to you, that's a straight gap on our side.

Broader vertical coverage. Dever sells the same platform into courier work and cruise and ferry transfer alongside chauffeur and private hire. Kairo is built for executive chauffeur operators and does not cover courier work at all.

Flat pricing with no limits on drivers, vehicles, customers or bookings, and no contracts. Kairo's tiers step up with fleet size, so above a certain fleet an uncapped flat fee can simply be cheaper. Do the arithmetic on your own numbers.

A passenger booking app on iOS and Android, letting your customers get an instant quote, book, pay by card and track the driver from an app. Kairo offers a client portal and passenger tracking links, not a branded passenger app.

Multi-language support, with the Mac App Store listing stating 11 languages. Kairo is English only. For an operator with non-English-speaking staff or overseas passengers, that's a practical advantage.

Unlimited support and training included in the monthly price, with remote support over TeamViewer. Some operators simply prefer a supplier they can telephone in Hampshire and have someone take over the screen.

Who should stay put

Stay on Dever if you run courier or cruise and ferry work alongside your chauffeur cars, need driver payslips produced inside the dispatch system, or run a fleet large enough that an uncapped flat monthly fee beats Kairo's fleet-size tiers, because those are things Kairo does not do today and no amount of AI quoting makes up for them.
